Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) in collaboration with Qualcomm Inc. USA and the Central Asian Cellular Forum (www.3gca.org) successfully organized a 3G Regulatory/Policy Workshop at Serena Hotel, Islamabad on 10 June 2010. The workshop was highly productive in terms of the audience as renowned telecom experts and top executives graced the occasion and applauded the efforts of organizers. The objective of the workshop was to address in detail the Policy, Regulatory and technical challenges which need to be addressed ahead of the long awaited 3G spectrum auctioning. The workshop also covered in detail the benefits of 3G technologies and wide range of 3G Mobile broadband services tailor made for Pakistani consumers. More than 150 industry professionals from the IT/Telecom sector were present including strong presence from the Operators, OEMs, Government, Academia and media.
Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Mr. Latif Khusa, was the chief guest accompanied by the guest of honors Sectary IT & Telecom, Mr. Naguibullah Malik and Chairman PTA, Dr. Mohammad Yaseen.
