The Greek unit of UK-based group Vodafone has launched a 3G femtocell home/office indoor signal-boosting device over its W-CDMA/HSPA network.
The Huawei-manufactured Vodafone Access Gateway femtocell supports data speeds of up to 7.2Mbps (downlink) over HSDPA and can be used by up to 16 wireless devices simultaneously.
The micro-scale base station, which connects to the cellular network via a fixed ADSL modem, can be bundled with a Vodafone Greece contract or bought at a standalone price of EUR150 (USD193).
