Islamabad, Pakistan - 17th Jan 2009- Another training session on WCDMA was successfully conducted by the Central Asian Cellular Forum on 17th January 2009. The workshop was held at Telenor Office, Blue Area, Islamabad, Pakistan.

Dr. Syed Ismail Shah, Executive Director, Central Asian Cellular Forum and Qualcomm certified trainer conducted the training which covered WCDMA (UMTS): Protocols and Physical Layer with an introduction to HSUPA.

The training was a part of series of training programs being carried out across the country by Central Asian Cellular Forum for GSM operators ahead of the expected 3G network upgrade. A total of 23 professional Engineers from Telenor and LCC attended the training.

The work shop was conducted by Dr. Syed Ismail Shah, Executive Director, Central Asian Cellular Forum along with Mr. Arif Munir & Mr. Umair Syed, experts from Qualcomm Inc. USA.

The workshop was considered to be a very promising one as the class was a mix of professionals from Telenor, which is amongst the leading cellular service provider of the country, and LCC, a reputable telecom consultant, renowned for providing superior network designs, build-out, deployments and optimization services especially for 3G networks.
